A Charter Company Built Around the Eastern Gulf
Duskwave was started in 2011 by a small group of sailors who had spent years navigating the waters between Sattahip and the outer islands of the Gulf of Thailand. They noticed that most charter operations in the region catered to large tour groups, and that quieter, private experiences were difficult to find. The aim was straightforward: offer well-maintained vessels, experienced crew, and routes that gave passengers actual time on the water — without the noise of a shared boat.
Over the years, the fleet has expanded and the routes have grown longer, but the approach has stayed the same. Groups book a boat for themselves. The crew adapts the day to the weather and to what passengers actually want. Meals come from a proper galley, not a cooler. And the pace is decided at sea, not on a printed schedule.
Duskwave now operates from its berth on the Sattahip Naval Base Road, running evening cruises, full-day island passages, and multi-day coastal voyages along the eastern Gulf coast.
Our Mission
To give people unhurried time on the Gulf of Thailand — through well-run charters that put comfort, safety, and the quality of the experience ahead of everything else.
Our Approach
Private groups only. Crew who know these waters. Menus prepared on board. Routes that adapt to conditions and to what passengers want to see. No rigid timetables, no crowded decks.
Our Values
Transparency in what we offer. Respect for the sea and coastal environment. Honest communication with every group before and during a charter. A commitment to improving, not just maintaining.
Meet the Crew
Kittipong Sombat
Head Skipper
Fifteen years at sea in the eastern Gulf. Holds a Class 1 Thai Maritime Officer licence. Kittipong has captained voyages from Sattahip to Koh Chang and knows the tidal patterns of every island in between.
Nattawan Wirat
Operations Manager
Coordinates fleet maintenance, charter scheduling, and provisioning. Nattawan joined Duskwave in 2014 and has shaped many of the operational standards the team still works to today.
Pracha Chitaphan
Lead Deck Hand & Diver
PADI Divemaster and experienced free-diver. Pracha manages snorkeling activities on island passages, handles deck work, and assists with mooring at the outer anchorages.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Thai Maritime Compliance
All vessels are registered and inspected under the Thai Marine Department's commercial charter regulations. Pre-departure safety checks are mandatory before every departure.
Regular Vessel Maintenance
Engines, hull integrity, electrical systems, and safety equipment are checked on a scheduled basis by a qualified marine mechanic. No vessel departs with an unresolved issue.
First Aid Readiness
At least one crew member on each charter holds a current marine first aid qualification. Medical kits are maintained on all vessels and checked before each trip.
Environmental Care
No waste is discharged at sea. Anchor placement follows reef-safe guidelines at every island stop. Passengers are briefed on responsible snorkeling near coral formations.
Privacy of Guest Information
Booking details, contact information, and dietary or personal notes are retained only for operational purposes and are not shared with third parties outside the booking process.
Clear Communication
Before every charter, the crew provides a thorough briefing — weather expectations, route outline, onboard provisions, and safety procedures. Questions are welcomed at any point.
Charter Experience Along the Eastern Gulf
The eastern Gulf of Thailand holds some of the country's quieter waters — a stretch of coastline running south of Pattaya past Sattahip toward Chanthaburi, where island groups sit close to the shore and sea conditions are generally calmer than the central Gulf. Duskwave operates within this corridor, running charters that take advantage of the region's geography: protected anchorages, snorkeling sites accessible without long open-water crossings, and harbors that see less commercial traffic than the Koh Samui corridor further south.
Operating from a fixed berth on Sattahip Naval Base Road, the fleet covers routes that include the inner harbor, Koh Kham, Koh Phai, and the longer coastal stretches toward the outer island groups. Multi-day passages allow for anchorages in more remote areas that day-trip vessels rarely reach. The crew's deep familiarity with these waters — built over more than a decade of regular operation — translates directly into better route choices, safer anchorages, and more time spent in genuinely rewarding places.
Charter bookings from international visitors, Bangkok-based residents, and Thai guests from the Eastern Seaboard make up the majority of Duskwave's client base. Each group travels privately, with no other passengers on board, allowing the experience to be shaped around the group's own preferences rather than a fixed commercial schedule.
