What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device — computer, tablet, or smartphone — when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work as expected and to provide information to the website's operators.

Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses. They simply store small pieces of data, such as a session identifier or a preference setting, that the site can read on your next visit.

Related technologies — including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — operate differently but serve similar purposes. We address these separately in Section 10.

02

Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies on the Duskwave website. The table below gives an overview. Each category is described in detail in subsequent sections.

Category Purpose Can Be Declined?
Essential Core website functionality No — required for the site to operate
Analytics Understanding visitor behaviour Yes
Marketing Measuring ad campaign reach Yes
Preferences Remembering your settings Yes
03

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function. Without them, core features — including the enquiry form, cookie consent record, and secure page delivery — would not operate correctly. Because they are technically required, they are placed on your device without your separate consent.

Cookie Name Purpose Duration
dw_consent Records your cookie consent preferences 12 months
PHPSESSID Server-side session management for form processing Session
dw_csrf Cross-site request forgery protection token Session
04

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website — which pages attract the most interest, how long people spend reading, and which paths they follow through the site. This helps us improve the quality of information we publish.

GA4 data is aggregated and anonymised before we review it. We have configured IP anonymisation and disabled data sharing with Google's advertising products.

Cookie Name Provider Duration
_ga Google Analytics 24 months
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX Google Analytics (property-specific) 24 months
_gid Google Analytics (daily user tracking) 24 hours

You may opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

05

Marketing Cookies

We use marketing measurement cookies to track whether visitors who clicked on an advertisement later submitted an enquiry through our website. This conversion data helps us understand which advertising channels bring people to Duskwave — it does not enable us to serve targeted advertising to you.

Cookie Name Provider Duration
_fbp Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram conversion) 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel (click attribution) 90 days
_uetsid Microsoft Bing Ads (session) 1 day
_uetvid Microsoft Bing Ads (visitor) 13 months

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. We use an embedded Google Maps panel to display our location at Sattahip. When that map loads, Google may place cookies on your device according to its own privacy policies. We do not control the content or scope of those cookies.

We do not embed social media widgets, video players, or other third-party content that would introduce additional tracking cookies beyond those listed above.

Managing Your Cookies

You have several ways to manage cookie preferences:

Our Cookie Consent Tool

When you first visit the Duskwave website, a consent banner gives you the option to accept or decline each category of non-essential cookie. You may change these preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer.

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. The exact steps vary by browser, but you can usually find these controls under Settings → Privacy & Security. Note that disabling all cookies may affect how some websites behave — on this site, blocking essential cookies would prevent the enquiry form from working correctly.

Opt-Out Tools

For advertising measurement cookies, you may use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page or the Your Online Choices tool (EU/UK).

10

Local Storage & Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, our website uses browser local storage to save your cookie consent preferences as a secondary record. Local storage is not transmitted to our servers with each page request and is cleared when you clear your browser's site data.

We do not use pixel tags or web beacons beyond those set by the analytics and marketing providers listed in Sections 4 and 5. We do not use device fingerprinting or supercookies.

11

Updates to This Policy

We review this cookie policy periodically and update it when we change how we use cookies, introduce new services, or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision took effect.

If we introduce new categories of cookies that require consent, we will prompt visitors to review and accept the updated preferences on their next visit.

We encourage you to revisit this page occasionally to stay informed about our cookie practices. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
